This is probably the best course available on Udemy. The instructor has a lot of knowledge and experience, which is evident in the way they explain each code logic and carefully construct the difficulty levels of the exercises. As a result, I didn't give up on the course, even though I consider myse lf a slow learner. The projects are also very interesting. User review:

Nice clear and easy to follow steps from start to finish, starting with how to install JDK and Eclipse, then illustrating elementary programming concepts and language syntax, and finishing with overriding and abstract classes. I already know C# so the course was a little slow for me in places, but I expected that. If I were to take half a point off the score (and I won't) it would be because not enough was said about navigating around the tabs in the Eclipse environment to get back in control of the layout when you have clicked the mouse in the wrong place. The slightly different behaviour of frames in Mac OS (I noticed non-drawing of labels until the frame is resized, non-painting of background colour) detracted a little from some of the examples, but fortunately without obscuring the lesson. User review:

I have just completed video #93 of 347 videos in the course. This is one of the finest courses I have done on Udemy and I have quite a few in my collection. I am very thankful for the instructor who has taken the time and put in the effort to create such a thourough course. The instruction is thouro ugh and detailed while not being boring. I don't know how he does that. Plus, he is giving a College level course here (he has a PHD in CS). The assignments are very interesting and fun. The best part is he also responds to questions. This is a big plus. Almost all java courses will dive directly into using an IDE. He starts off and covers a good portion of the course using a simple text editor and teaching all the basics of how to compile and run java code. All this is very helpful in understanding what is going on behind the scenes. This is not a crash course just as he says. It is a detailed course, but once you cover a topic with Dheeru you will have a firm understanding of it. Expect to put in some time when you take this course, but you will learn a lot. [3] ... User review:

I read a lot about SOAP, REST from different sources (books, online, Youtube) for years, I had also hand-on experience. So far (I'm in lesson 32) this course is the best of the bests: clear, succinct, comprehensive, it connect the dots of things that I knew before into line, and help me to be able to explain better to more junior. Thank you Master. The REST explanations are exceptionally clear & good. I need to come back on WSDL creation of SOAP to understand better (I worked on bottom-up, not top down). Still rate 5 stars. Thanks "Final review" I skipped some classes because of the lack of time, but I will come back to view it more. or replay it to understand better. This course is one of the best courses I have on Udemy.com, linda.com, pluralsight.com so far (Udemy is the best of the 3). I enjoy it so much that I subscribed the course "JUnit and Mockito Crash Course" to learn more from Mr Bharath Thippireddy. Hope that the new course will give same satisfaction. User review:

It's ok so far, however the Java SE and Netbeans might be a little dated, it seems he's running Netbeans 8, however as of this writing Netbeans 11.3 is available. I hope both still are quite similar. While they are similar, on Netbeans 11.3 when creating a new project there's no simply "Java" proje ct, rather there is only "Java with Maven" which requires you to create a class, this isn't explained in the video (because it's an older Netbeans version), and while this doesn't hamper the rest of the course, it can create a blockade for students who literally have no idea how to create a new project on Netbeans 11.3 [6] ... User review:

Actually i was not an absolute beginner, so i found this course pretty useful to me to remind things i forgot for no reason. It was a good revision for me, but what i think is a little more of depth knowledge should be given if its meant to be for beginners. Actually my point of saying is not that the course was not good, but the beginners must know why to use?, when to use? and particularly how to use?. Overall, it was a great experience and thanks Nate Sir and Udemy for this great fun learning course. [8] ... Read More

User review:

Mike's design for, and preparation of, the lectures are ideal. I also appreciate his line-by-line commentary. The enhancements I would suggest are (1) to introduce new techniques by a few sentences on the general idea ("it's a little like..." would be fine), and (2) to look over the written tran script to standardize regional English usage like "parenthese" as singular of "parentheses" (the singular should be "parenthesis"). I warmly recommend this course to any Java developer, as it's going to touch the fundamentals in a steady and very practical way. Even if no one will have to use servlets and JSPs in production projects, it is meant to be what is written in the title, and in my opinion, it worth all the time I spen t on it. Eye opener. It does not enter all the details (fine documentations are already out there for that), although sometimes touches some interesting aspects of Java Web development, introduced in context, and hard to find otherwise. Excellent teacher, very knowledgeable. I will definitely use the insights from this course for quite a long time from now on. [10] ... Read More

User review:

I really enjoyed the course until we got into the Android Studio (AS) part, it should be made clear that this course will only really work well in AS up to 2.3.3 - so you need to make sure that is the version you are running. I found Paulo engaging, but extra code would occasionally appear in the v ideo code window and this would leave you thinking you had missed something; it would then be explained in the next video. The radio button lecture suddenly had if statements appear with an explanation of how you could do the code without the if statement, but, that is exactly how it had just been done, we had not used if statements, I would understand the use of this example if we had used if statements first and were then shown how this could be done more efficiently with the use of switch case. I also did not see the purpose of showing us how to do something and then stating, but, this is not how it should be done - e.g. the text on a button that should be in the string resources file and not hard coded.
